Behind Waves.STUDIO is Emilie Jensen, who creates handmade objects in the tension between functional design and art.
Each Waves.STUDIO piece is made by hand in bio-based resin and defined by organic forms, tactile surfaces, and sculptural expression. From statement vases and sculptural lighting to decorative wall art, every object is created with a focus on materiality, craftsmanship, and lasting design.
All pieces are handcrafted in Aarhus, Denmark.

FROM CURIOSITY TO CRAFTSMANSHIP
"Waves.STUDIO was born in 2024 out of a curiosity to create something different.
With a background in IT project management, the path into design and art was not planned. It began as an investigation of materials, forms and craftsmanship, driven by the desire to learn, experiment and create something with my hands.
Today I design and handcraft sculptural vases, lamps and art objects, where function meets artistic form. I am particularly interested in how an object can add presence to a space and arouse curiosity."

THE CONTROLLED & UNEXPECTED
"Each object is shaped by hand, and although the process is well-worked out, the result can never be completely predicted. The material leaves its own mark along the way, and that is precisely one of the most beautiful things about the process. It is in the interplay between intention and change that the character of the work arises. Small variations in surface, shape and depth are not considered deviations, but as a natural part of the expression."

BIO-BASERED RESIN
THE CREATIVE PROCESS
"My ambition is to create objects that make people stop and wonder and explore every detail. I am naturally drawn to materials that challenge expectations, which is why I started experimenting with bio-based resin.
What fascinates me most is its ability to appear both delicate and strong. It can be shaped and bent in ways that would be impossible with glass or ceramics. I use almost no energy in the creation process and there is virtually no waste, unlike traditional processing methods."
